Whiskers is a beautiful black cockapoo with a wonderful personality. This gorgeous 9-year-old is looking for a new home without kids. In her former home, she lived with a 5 and 2-year-old. Recently, she lost the vision in one eye and the sudden movements of little ones are now difficult for her to follow. Whiskers has a moderate energy level and likes to run. She walks well on a leash but should not be let off leash unless in a fenced area. This little lady likes to cruise the neighborhood, if given the opportunity. She is friendly towards everyone but does dislike having her paws touched. Whiskers was reportedly submissive and friendly with all the other neighborhood dogs. At this point, we don't know how she would do with cats. As an older lady, she is past all the puppy foolishness and is housebroken. Her family allowed her to have "free roam" while they were gone. At night, she used to sleep with the 5-year-old, so loves to snuggle and be close to her human. Sadly, Whiskers lost the vision in one eye due to Glaucoma. She still has vision in her remaining eye but as a precaution takes inexpensive daily eye drops to keep her eye healthy. Due to her eye issues, we recommend using a harness versus a collar when walking her. Whiskers is looking forward to ringing in the New Year with a new adult family.
