“The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.”

A few minutes with Andy Rooney?  Actually, I’m hoping you’ll want to spend a lifetime.

Hi, I’m Andy Rooney.  I was named after a famous news commentator, because I have these truly awesome eyebrows!  From what I’ve heard about the man, I think that’s where the similarity ends, although I do like dogs a lot, too!

I’ve had some ups and downs in my life.  I was adopted from OBG a couple of years ago, and then my new family fell on hard times.  They made the heart-breaking decision to return me to OBG in hopes that I would find another family that would give me the life that I deserve.  There were lots of tears when my family said goodbye.

In my former life, I was super lucky, because I got to go to work with my mom.  I sat quietly in a chair while she did her job and had a great time interacting with her clients.  My foster mom works from home a couple days a week, and I lie at her feet under her desk—you’d never even know I was there, except when she gets up, and then I follow her wherever she goes.  I’m hoping that my new family will have someone home a lot, because I love to be with people.

My foster family has another dog, a cat, and birds.  It’s pretty cool, and I get along great with everyone. I  LOVE to go for walks with my foster sibling, and I am great on the leash.

I already know sit, off, stay (sometimes) and come.  I give kisses and paws when asked.  And I ride very nicely in the car.  Oh, and I’m housebroken.  When I really need to go outside, I make a funny howl.  Foster mom laughs, because I sound like the dog named Copper in the Disney cartoon, The Fox and the Hound!

At night I sleep quietly in my crate in my foster parents’ bedroom.  I stay in a crate in the family room when Foster Mom and Dad go away during the day.  Foster Mom is sure that I can be trusted outside the crate, but because I live with birds, she wants to keep us all out of trouble.

If you would like to know more about me, please email my foster mom or OBG.  You can look for me at upcoming adoption events—I’ll be that handsome chocolate boy with the lovely eyebrows and lashes and constantly wagging tail! Hope to see you soon!
