Rocky Ridge

Rocky Ridge's chocolate and caramel coloring should be your first clue as to his personality: sweet, sweet, sweet!  This affectionate cuddlebug would love to be your constant companion, following you from room to room with typical cocker curiosity.  He still has a lot to learn about this big world, since he's only 2 years old.  Case in point, he barks at his reflection in the mirror, which is quite endearing!

Despite being a youngster, he's got fabulous manners.  He's housetrained and learned the doggy door in just a few days.  He really loves being outside, so a fenced yard where he could patrol for birds and squirrels would be a dream come true!  He does need strict supervision out there, though, because this smarty pants can open gates or dig under fences.  For that reason, and based on the recommendation of his prior home, he's looking for a home without little kiddos. 

Rocky gets along well with other dogs and would love a playmate to help expend some energy and drop a few pounds, since at the moment, our boy is a bit of a chunky monkey.  His prior family had to give him up because they were elderly and could no longer care for a pup in his prime, so we believe this contributed to weight gain. 

He's a bit of a talker, so he'd probably do best in a single family home.  His foster home highly recommends taking him to a positive training class to learn leash manners - right now he's a bit overeager to greet anyone and everyone he sees.  What a great opportunity to bond!
