After being with OBG for awhile - and beating several serious illnesses - Hope (aka the Little Engine that Could) is ready to hit the adoption circuit!

Hope is a fabulous ~8 year-old furbaby.  Like so many homeless pups, she was found as a stray and landed in a North Carolina animal shelter.  The shelter workers, vet and ultimately her rescuer saw something special in this girl and brought her to our attention.  A video of her reaching her paw through the bars of her shelter kennel captured our hearts and we couldn't say no - we are grateful to be a part of her rescue.  We understand her tail is constantly in motion and she simply oozes happiness!

She gets along well with everyone, including children - in fact, she lived with kiddos in her initial foster home.  She also gets along well with other dogs, though we're sure she'd be OK as an only dog if she had a doting human or two.  She's also come leaps and bounds when it comes to being house broken (yay, Hope!)

With her winning personality, we know she would have been snapped up by a lucky adopter already, but for her initial medical issues.  You see, she came to OBG with benign mammary tumors, one of which was so large it touched the ground, and ended up being heartworm positive.  After many months of medical treatment and a generous dose of foster family love and care, we are proud to say that our girl beat the odds and is now as healthy as she is happy!

Hope's vet was beaming because she was so thankful OBG stepped in to save her.  This speaks to just how amazing of a pooch this little lady is.  The family who ultimately gets to be a part of this girls life is a lucky one indeed.
