Hi there, humans! I am Matthew Dillon, but all my friends call me Matty. I am a happy fella looking for some new humans to love! My previous mom needed to make a change in living and couldn't take me with her. I have been an only dog most of my life, but I would also be happy to have some siblings--humans and canines! I am living with a foster dog brother right now and we are having a blast playing together! And my foster mom and her roommates find me to be quite the charmer. But really, who could resist this face?! Plus, I recently got a haircut and look like a new man!

If you are looking for a dog who is out of the annoying puppy stage, I'm your man!!  The vets say I'm about 8yo, but I believe age is just a number (I don't like to reveal my exact age -- guess I do have a bit of the Hollywood attitude :) ).  My breed generally lives to be 12--15 years old so I've got lots and lots of life left to live.  I've had time to practice walking on a leash and I do very well.  I'd love a new family who will take me on lots and lots of walks and to the doggie park.  I also know the importance of good manners and I rarely bark.  I'm still playful and, in my opinion fetch is the neatest game ever invented -- I love to fetch tennis balls and toys.  When I want to play, I can be a bit persistent, but in a very cute way (I've been told its impossible to resist my sweet face and my huge floppy ears).

However, I am a bit fearful around cats, so I would do best in a home without any kitties. And because I am a bit older and hard of hearing, I would do best in a home with older children. Please note though, that Cocker Spaniels like me are prone to ear and eye issues including cataracts and glaucoma.  I have the start of a cataract in my one eye -- don't worry, I can still see out of it and a vet has looked at it.  But, my new vet will need to keep a close eye on it and eventually, I will probably lose sight in that eye.  The cataract could possibly be removed, but that is also something my new forever family will need to discuss with the vet (including the risks that go along with surgery).

Please don't consider me too old for a second chance! I still have a lot of life and love to give. I would love to be your early morning and evening walking buddy -- what a great way to finally welcome the spring weather?!

My foster mom says I am doing awesome and almost never have accidents in the house, however, with the transition to a new home, I may need some patience as I adjust.

The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download the Lucky Dog Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Ashley at ashleyluckydog@gmail.com
