Stella

 

Stella was probably the most highly decorated Walmart Greeter in her prior life. She is one happy, outgoing, affectionate friendly gal whose spunky nature is undeterred by anything, including a difficult start to her young life. Still a puppy at 9 months old, she loves to walk and sniff around outside, loves to play with other dogs, and greets strangers on the street (including children) like her long lost friend or newly discovered toy. She is particularly fond of snuggling on a lap and getting petted for as long as possible.   

 

She has not had much structure in her life up to now, so she is learning to control her enthusiasm for life and new adventures.  She is working on her housetraining and obedience skills, and her eagerness to please is resulting in fast learning and quick advancement. She is not particularly motivated by food or treats, and feels more rewarded when she gets belly rubs and ear scratches. (Although she is everyone’s best friend, cats are a little too aloof for this sociable gal, and the felines do not appreciate her efforts to teach them how to run and play.)

 

We haven’t yet told Stella that she’s not a Cocker Spaniel. We think she’s a little bit Papillion, a little bit Schipperke, a little bit Chihuahua. We call her Breed: Pretty! With super soft, silky hair and adoring eyes, she’s truly 11 pounds of beautiful!   Stella has had her shots & puppy exam, and is being spayed March 25. After that, she will be ready for her forever home. We can’t imagine it will take long. She’s a genuine catch!
