Holiday

Introducing Holiday!!!  Holiday is an adorable, super sweet, 17# senior Havanese mix who was found as a stray in South Carolina.  If only he could talk - we bet he has a story to tell!

Holiday's favorite activity is cuddling up next to a person on a sofa or in bed.  He might nudge you gently if you stop petting him.  He engages people with his huge, soft brown eyes, which never fail to communicate his desires.  Holiday is hard to resist!

Holiday truly enjoys being pampered.  His ideal family would be one in which someone is home a lot to give him attention and to love him.  He looks forward to a spoonful of canned dog food on top of his kibble, and a bully stick to chew makes his day.  All in all, his desires are simple and easy to fulfill. 

Holiday is excellent with cats, as he ignores them.  Holiday definitely prefers dogs that stay out of his face, and he stays out of theirs.  He would love to be an only dog or he would do just fine with those pooches that leave him alone.  He does well with respectful children ages 10+.

Holiday arrived at OBG with a broken pelvis, which is healing nicely.  He recently strained his iliopsoas (groin) muscles, so he is staying pretty quiet.  He walks around the house, following his person around, but he does not jump on or off furniture, nor is he allowed to do stairs.  This doesn't bother him in the slightest - he loves being carried.  He would benefit from additional physical therapy.

Holiday was diagnosed with diabetes, so he gets insulin shots twice a day.  He is a very good patient, and the injections are super easy to give.
