Dakota

Introducing dreamy Dakota!  He arrived to OBG after his owners surrendered him to a Virginia shelter.  His previous owners noted that the he is good with dogs, cats, and kids of all ages (including young grandchildren).  He is around 10-11 years old and weighs about 28 pounds.  Immediately, he showed us he is very sweet, gentle, patient and a total love sponge!  Not to mention pretty darn cute!

Dakota showed his foster folks how smart he is by quickly learning "sit" and "stay" and he already knows "shake" quite well.  In fact, as soon as he sees a treat, he offers his paw in a jiffy!   Check out Dakota learning to High Five here!



We don't think he hears too well so hand motions are important for him.   He hates to ask for much, but this boy has requested a home where he a doggie sibling and owners are home more often than not.  No condos or townhouses please as he doesn't like being left alone.  Plus, he loves to play with other dogs!  Dakota is very well behaved - he doesn't get on furniture and is an angel in the car and on walks.

Lastly, Dakota wants to share with you some of his favorite things (just like Oprah!).  He loves getting belly rubs and cuddles.  He likes to pass out wet kisses freely.  Walks around the neighborhood rank highly with him and he stops to smell the flowers - literally!  He enjoys getting his beauty sleep and we can't forget, TREATS -  they are a must!
