Hi!  My name is Bert.  I was found with another cocker spaniel (you can guess his name) roaming around the MD countryside.  At 8 years old and 21 pounds, I'm as spry and energetic as any cocker out there.  OBG said that I was shy to start, but my foster mom and dad would agree that once I feel safe and am given some love, I open right up.  I just need to have a chance to relax, and then I'll begin to nudge you to right where I like to be petted (which is now all over!).

One of my favorite things is to snuggle up next to my foster mom when she sits on the floor and lets me know she's there for kisses.  I also love to sit on the couch with my foster dad and watch the game by his side.  Both agree my crooked little nose and little patch of cream under my butt make me quite adorable.  I also like taking walks with my two dog brothers every day, relaxing in my crate (I am perfectly crate trained, if I do say so myself), chomping on a treat, and just watching the two cats sleep, play, or walk on by.  Have I mentioned that I'm house-trained?

I am working on my leash manners, as it seems I was never on a leash in my old life.  However, I'm really smart, so I know I'll get the hang of it soon!  I also need some soft reminders when I'm out in the park that I don't need to bark loudly and jump around when I see other dogs.  Foster mom likes to kneel down and pet me when I see another dog, and that helps a lot!  In my forever home, I would like a family that can help me learn new things, be patient with me as I warm up, and consist of teenagers and/or adults.  How 'bout it?  Can you handle all this cuteness?  If so, please let OBG know, so we can meet!
