Coyote Charlie sounds like a character from a kid's cartoon but there is nothing humorous about his past life. Residents in a southern housing development heard horrific screams and ran outside to see what was happening. To their horror, they witnessed a coyote attack. The victim was our own sweet, Coyote Charlie. The attack left him with severe wounds--both ear drums were ruptured, facial wounds, as well as suffering from a skin infection, dry eye, and luxating patellas. His knee caps slip out of place but the ortho vet feels they have been like this since he was young. He only weighs about 21 lbs. and should not gain much more so his knees remain stable. Poor Coyote Charlie has been through a horrible experience but this approximately 8 year old boy had a strong will to survive. Not only did he survive, he is starting to thrive!

Even after all Charlie has been through, he does well with other dogs. Charlie's foster home has dogs with various personalities and sexes and he has learned to get along with everyone. His foster mom reports that Charlie is great with people of all ages, he just adores people. He has not been tested with cats, but his foster mom feels that he would likely be fine with a feline sibling.

Coyote Charlie has a very loving and sweet personality and isn't afraid to show his affection. He will readily smother your face with sweet kisses.

He is great when being leash walked and also rides well in the car. He is housebroken and maybe more used to walks than having a backyard to wander, although he has now learned how to use a dog door. Charlie's foster mom considers him an easy sweet dog, she is really enjoying her time with Charlie. This velcro guy doesn't wander far from his foster mom and prefers to follow her everywhere. He's a mellow little dog, and perfectly capable of entertaining himself with nylabones, balls, and toys, all of which rate high on his list of fun things. He has been through SO much and deserves a loving home, where he will be kept safe from all types of harm.
