Lulu is a happy young girl who found herself as a stray in a Virginia shelter. Sadly, this sweet girl was in a desperate need of a spa treatment. Once she arrived at OBG, her matted hair was shaved off and she was given a soothing bath. She also had to endure the removal of 40 ticks from her body! She seemed to sense that everyone was trying to help and make her comfortable.

LuLu is very affectionate and wants to be with her human. She follows her foster Mom around the house and cooperatively stays in her crate when on her own. LuLu enjoys walks and is learning to play with toys. We do know that this baby is an escape artist and would be safer in a home with a fence (she loves to slip out the door). Although LuLu gets along with other dogs, she would be happier as an “only dog” and prefers the company of passive dogs, older children and a non-cat household since she is an alpha lady. LuLu is OK sharing food or dog toys with her foster canine champion, but when it comes to the bed or sofa LuLu thinks it belongs to her. LuLu’s Foster Mom is working with her so she will understand that other doggies are also permitted on the sofa.

Along with being house broken, LuLu enjoys car rides, long walks and is learning how to play with dog toys. Despite her appearance when she arrived to rescue LuLu appears to be in good health and behaves as if she was someone’s inside companion.
