| Sassy is a petite and sweet 3 or 4 year-old girl that could star in the musical "Annie" with her hard knocks life so far. Sadly, Sassy has been passed from home to home to home through no fault of her own. Sassy currently lives happily with her foster families’ dogs and cats. She is fully housetrained. She is looking for a patient adopter who will offer her the stability and love that has been sorely missing in her life. Sassy loves to play with her squeaky toys, is friendly to everyone, and just wants to be where her people are. She adores cuddles and will sit like a baby in your arms for hours. She also loves to fall asleep on your lap where she feels nice and secure. Sassy does have some vision issues so the sudden movements of children may startle her, so no home where there are children. In addition she loves to be with people, so kids could inadvertently step on her and Sassy wouldn’t be able to see to move away in time. You see, Sassy is now blind in her left eye due to undetected glaucoma that was not treated. Sassy recently had cataract surgery and the surgeon is optimistic about her prognosis. Her foster mom has reported that she does have some vision and notices objects and things going on around her. We are hopeful that as her eye heals from the surgery, more of her vision will be restored. She is doing very well at the moment and hasn’t lost her love of toys or food!! She will need a special family that is prepared to be her eyes and watch out for objects in her path when out walking. She learned the layout of her foster home very quickly and flies around as if she can see. That uncanny ability to “map” the furniture, doors etc will make it easier for her to transfer into a new home when the time comes. She can get scared when she meets dogs out walking because of her lack of good vision, and big dogs really do scare her – she literally will call out. A nice secure backyard where she can learn the lay of the land is high on her new home wishlist! Even though she does have limited vision, she still charges around like crazy outside and will need someone to work with her on leash training. She is learning to Sit and Stay, but due to her sight limitations, she misses your hand when giving a paw but she waves in the air sometimes! She is smart and will learn this stuff – it’s just that no one bothered in the past and now that she can’t see well, it takes her longer to learn tricks! She sits on her foster Dad’s lap like a baby while they put drops in her eyes – as good as an angel! Sassy is going to make some lucky family a fabulous doggie friend for life! Will that be yours? This strikingly beautiful black and tan beauty is just like Annie... “just thinkin' about tomorrow, clears away the cobwebs, and the sorrow, 'til there's none!” Please don't make Sassy wait until tomorrow, please email us today to find out more about her! Sassy has recovered from her treatments and is ready to go to her new adoptive home! Will it be yours? You won’t regret taking this little lovebug home – she will make you happy for life!
