When Daisy first came into rescue (back in July), she was one of the most pitiful creatures we had ever seen. We weren't even sure she would survive to ever BE available for adoption. Little Daisy was totally bald from sarcoptic mange. She was severely malnourished, and only weighed 12.5 lbs. Her digestive enzymes were totally depleted. Daisy was literally starving to death, no matter how much she ate.

Foster mom didn't give up, though. Several small, nourishing meals every day and digestive enzyme and vitamin supplements over the past several months have built Daisy up to a healthy 24 lbs. Dips and shampoos have eradicated the mange mites. Daisy now has a beautiful red coat. It wasn't until the new year that Daisy was finally strong enough to withstand the spay (and mammary tumor removal) surgery.

Through all this, Daisy is a wonderful sweet gentle soul. She never has barked, she just  whimpers  a little to go outside or to beg for a treat. She is housebroken, but needs to go out more often than other dogs.  She gently takes a treat and loves to be cuddled. She is still agile enough to want to explore her surroundings and take walks.

She has been through so much but still has time for a quality of life with a special someone that wants a quiet, gentle little cocker.  She is really one of the sweetest cockers her foster mom has ever been around.

We are sorry to report that Daisy was diagnosed with a moderate aggressive cancer. The vet thinks he got it all, but only time will tell. Foster mom has promised Daisy that "she will always have a warm bed, a warm heart and anything she wants as long as she is with [us]."

Do you have a heart big enough to give little Daisy that warmth to live out her remaining time? Daisy's medical issues have cost her "guardian angels" several hundred dollars to date, even when rescue discounts are considered. Daisy needs donations for her medical care. Even more, Daisy needs a forever home. Can you help?
