Doogie’s records might say
that he is 11, but don’t tell him that! This wonderful guy has the
energy level of a dog half of his age and it is amazing how high he jumps when a
walk or a treat is involved! Doogie came to OBG from a shelter in West
Virginia after his original owners did not have time to care for him anymore.
Doogie is housebroken, crate trained, loves to ride in the car, and likes to
lounge around and watch TV with you or get a good belly rub. At night, his
favorite place is in bed right next to you, although he has been known to sleep
on a dog bed as well. He does not chew on anything unless it is food
related, and can be left alone without a problem. While Doogie likes to
say “hi” to every dog he meets on the street (he even lets out a little cry
if he can’t go over to every dog he sees), he prefers to be the only dog in a
household. He has not had any experience with cats.
We have been told that Doogie
was teased a lot and as a result is not good with children, although he has been
very friendly to everyone he meets at the adoption shows. We also know
that Doogie is afraid of thunderstorms, but a lot of people are too!
Doogie is a sweet, wonderful,
energetic dog that is looking for a loving forever home to call his own.
