Donating to OBG

OBG is an all volunteer, non-profit organization.  We rely on your support and donations to help us with the costs of the care and rehabilitation of our dogs; the adoption fees do not come close to covering these expenses. This includes medical expenses, grooming, food, and kenneling (which we must do when we have too many dogs for our foster parents to keep at home). Donations are  greatly appreciated, are tax deductible and go 100% to the  cost of the dogs (We do not  pay salaries,  office rent or administrative costs other than postage and printing). For financial information on OBG, click on the Helping.org logo below, and then click on view full report.

Please note that OBG respects your privacy. We will add you to our mailing list, unless you tell us otherwise. We will not divulge your contact information to any other party. We do not sell our donor or mailing lists to anybody.

Designate how your Gift will be used

OBG relies on adoption fees, special fund raising events, gifts and donations for it's funding. We have several options for you to designate your gift:

OBG Current Fundraisers   OBG usually has an upcoming fundraising event, bake sale, car wash, you name it!      Click here for a list of upcoming fundraisers.

Sammy's Fund Contributions to the Sammy Fund will go towards specific medical diagnostics and operations for our special needs dogs. Common examples of these procedures are cataract removal, ear canal surgery, removal of mammary tumors, bladder stone removal.  This fund was inspired by Sammy, who had his eyesight restored through surgery and was happily placed in a loving home
Charlotte Fund for Heartworm Contributions to the Charlotte Fund will go specifically for heartworm pills and treatment for the OBG dogs, as well as for educational pamphlets.  Unfortunately OBG has seen many dogs come in with heartworm, which can run from $400 on up depending upon the extent of infestation and other complications. This fund was inspired by Charlotte, a darling little 3 year old who succumbed to heartworm after putting up a brave fight.

Sponsor a Special Needs Dog

Individual dogs on our Special Needs page can be directly sponsored in order to cover their medical or rehabilitation needs.

Memorial to a Best Friend If you have lost a best friend, or know someone who has,  for a small donation OBG can create a memorial page on our website. Click here for more details.
General Fund Contributions to this fund will pay for routine veterinary care, spay/neutering,  food and other expenses directly related to our dogs in foster care. Any contributions not otherwise designated will go towards the General Fund.

Donate Through Your Employer (CFC)

OBG Has a New CFC #27768 - see below

Payroll Deduction

If you are a Federal Employee in the National  Capital Area, the simplest way to donate is through the Combined Federal  Campaign CFC.  Designate #27768 on your CFC donation form in the upcoming Fall 2007 campaign. Note: CFC has assigned a new number  #27768 to OBG for the upcoming CFC campaign. The old CFC #7292 is still valid for your current CFC withholdings.  You don't need to change anything on your current CFC withholdings. Just remember to designate the new #27768 in the upcoming Fall CFC campaign. Thank You!

For Non-Federal United Way donors, do not write in CFC number.  Instead, please designate OBG by writing on your pledge card: Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue, Inc. Newington, VA

If your employer uses a different charity organizer, please consult with your local coordinator to determine if OBG qualifies for your plan. Note that OBG is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization, as granted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) On October 25, 1999.

For both CFC and United Way donors, we are a local charity in the National Capital Area, and will get your donation only if your office is located in one of the following locations:

District of Columbia: All areas

Virginia:
Alexandria City
Arlington
Fairfax County
Fairfax City
Falls Church City
Manassas Park City
Manassas City
Prince William County
Loudoun County

Maryland:

Charles County

If your office is not located in one of the jurisdictions listed above, then you are not within the National Capital Area for CFC purposes. If you have any doubts, check with your local CFC coordinator. If you are not in the National Capital Area,  we would still appreciate your donation by either a check mailed to Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 361 Newington, VA 22122-0361 or by donation through .

Matching Gift

Many companies encourage their employees philanthropy through a matching gift program where your employer will match individual donations. These generous programs double your donation to OBG. Ask your human resources department if your employer has such a program. If so, you will be given a matching gift form to send to OBG with your donation - and we'll do the rest.
