Cody came into our lives sometime in early 2000 when we visited one of OBG's adoption shows at the Springfield Petsmart. Upon seeing Cody's loving face, we immediately fell in love with him; he has been nothing but pure joy to have in the house. Cody, who we think is about 8-9 years old, loves to snuggle on the couch with his mommy and daddy (he favors mommy), play with his toys (his elephant is his favorite) and LIVES for his treats! He LOVES to run in the woods when we go hiking and "freaks out" when we say certain magic words.
Cody's mom calls him "Flieger Ohren" which is German for "Flying Ears" as when he gets excited and jumps around, it looks like his ears are flapping. A couple of times a month Cody gets a really special treat when his mommy takes him to work with her. In her office Cody has his bed, water and toys along with constant attention from everyone Karin works with. And when Cody is not in the office, people always come up and ask Karin to bring him in! All of the neighbors love our Cody, especially the two little girls (6 and 9) who live next door. Often the phone will ring and Amelia and Layla (our neighbors) will ask if Cody can come over and play for a bit. Last month little Layla was sick and Cody proved to be the best medicine for her as she perked right up and played with Cody before taking a nap with him resting snugly under the covers with her.
Cody is truly man's best friend. Even if we have had the worst possible day at work, we can not be unhappy for long when we walk through the front door and see our handsome man "freaking out" with his "flieger ohren" flapping in the wind and that cute little tail waggling so fast that he might take off. Thank you for all the happiness you bring us, Cody. We cherish every moment with you and look forward to many more wonderful experiences with you in our lives.
