Words can not describe the love we have for Bailey. He
is such a doll and so funny. We had not looked at the OBG web site in a
while and one day we decided to look. It was fate. As soon as we saw
Bailey we emailed his foster mom Kathryn. She could not stop saying such
wonderful things about him and boy was she right. We arranged to meet him that
weekend and we just fell in love. He is so cuddly and beautiful. His two
goals in life: play ball and receive
lots of hugs and kisses. I think he is living up to those goals. After an hour
and a half of playing with him we wanted to put him in our pocket and take him
home. We thank Kathryn again for letting us spend all that time with him that
day.
Well on June 29, 2003, Bailey moved into his forever home. He adjusted quickly.
He opted for his bed or our bed instead of his crate. He found his favorite
chair and took over a pillow (as you can see from the picture). He loves to play
ball and jog with Daddy (while chasing squirrels, birds and cats) and loves to
get a lot of lovin from Mommy. I admit I am a sucker for that face, and he knows
it!
Everyday we learn something new about his personality. He understands commands,
how to sit with a seat belt on in the car and how to point out his leash.
For the first week or so, he would not walk calmly on his leash. We decided to
tell him no when he tugged and now you would think we spent
a fortune on training (until he sees a squirrel, bird or a cat). I guess he
wanted to see if he could train us.
It has been a month now that we extended our family and the three of us could
not be any happier. I think it is safe to say that Bailey feels right at home
and knows that he is not going anywhere. We are a family for good. Duanne and I
just thank God that he sent us a healthy, sweet and house broken pup to love.
We also wanted to thank all the wonderful volunteers at OBG. These dogs
are so lucky to have such wonderful individuals caring for them and looking out
for their best interest. We thank you, and especially Kathryn and her family,
for loving Bailey until he came into our hearts.
Sincerely,
Bailey, Duanne and Laura
