Adopted March 2003
My name is Mary and I adopted an Oldies But Goodies cocker named
Bandit in March of this year.
I wanted to take a moment and provide you with an update on Bandit for the web
site. When I brought him home, he was very shy and scared of people. It is no
wonder because before Oldies But Goodies saved him, he was kept outside on a
chain during all kinds of weather. It appears to me that he was also abused as
he got very scared if anyone put their hand out to pet him. It is as though he
was afraid of being hit.
The good news is that slowly but surely he seems to be getting over his fears.
He has even started barking more. I only heard him bark one time during the
first 4 weeks I had him. Bandit loves his long walks and especially trying
to chase after the squirrels and birds. He hasn't caught one yet....but he sure
tries.
Bandit is a very, very sweet dog. Wherever I am....he is. He is a very
loyal little guy. Also, he absolutely loves little kids. He is now the
favorite of my 3 nieces and 2 nephews. He is right at home now as you can see
from his
picture. After losing my cocker Freddy at age 15 in February, Bandit was just
what I needed.
Oldies But Goodies is a fantastic organization and I have been singing its
praises to many of my friends. Hopefully some of them will be ready to bring an
Oldies But Goodies dog into their life soon.
Thanks
Mary K
