ADOPTED 7/25/99

Nine-year-old Benny came to us after being shuffled around between several families in West Virginia. He has now settled in his forever home in Fairfax. His new "father" and best friend sent us the following update on Benny:

Benny seems to love to lounge around and enjoys "people" food. He is very aware when I am not around and is constantly seeking attention and affection. He has me trained already. We go for walks of 1.5 to 2.5 miles almost daily. He is very enthusiastic about getting around the neighborhood. Walking with Beny has allowed me to meet more neighbors in the past two months than in the past three years! Everyone thinks he is younger than his nine years and considers him vry cute. He rarely barks and is friendly to other animals, children and adults. I have travelled with him in my car to Pennsylvania on several occassions and he rides calmly and peacefully. My young neices love him and "babysat" him for a couple of days.

Benny does not run around at all. He does not chase a ball or play any games. And though I think he may have had some training early on, he is timid about being alone in the backyard. He has almost no hearing left, but does seem to respond to loud, fast noises, such as a handclap.

Benny has allowed me to be his friend and I am happy for it. He is in good hands and so am I.
