Brody

Adopted October 2003

Attached is a picture of Brody (on the left, buff colored), who we  adopted from the rescue in October 2003, and his brother Bandit. Bandit was just a few months old when his "big sister" Casey died of cancer.  He was lonely and our family decided to look for another cocker to be his companion. We kept searching the site and found  "Brody." The poor guy had been mistreated. He was extremely underweight, weighing only 17 pounds at 15 months old. He was afraid of men, and had been treated for several medical issues. He was a very nervous boy!

When Brody's foster mom and dad brought him to meet our  family; which is  2 teenaged boys, a dad and mom, he ran and sat in Mom's  lap. Well  that's all it took for me! I was hooked! He was afraid  of the boys and  my husband. Brody figured out after a couple of weeks  that he was safe  and no one, not even a man, was going to hurt him.   Brody and Bandit are great playmates. They love to run  around in our  back yard together and wrestle. Brody and Bandit cuddle  on the couch  with us...and each other! They also like to sneak  upstairs and sleep  with Mom and Dad.

We have trained Brody to sit, lay, shake, roll over,  fetch and stay. He  loves to catch treats and jumps very high to get them.  He loves  everybody and wants to jump on them and lick them (after  his hello  bark!)  Brody wants to jump over the fence and is quite a  climber...we are still  working on keeping him from jumping over the fence to  visit our  neighbor. Our neighbor keeps giving him treats...so of  course he wants  to go over!

Brody has been a great addition to our family. He gets  lots of love and  attention from all of us. He likes to go for long walks  with us and  that's a good thing because he has boundless energy. He  is very active  but has gained weight. He's up to a safe 26 pounds. It  is a wonderful  improvement...his spine and ribs aren't sticking out  anymore. His fur  has filled in nicely and he is enjoying life. He's a  very gentle boy  that needed a family to take care of him. WE ARE AND WE  LOVE HIM!!!

Thank you for allowing us to provide him with his  "Forever Home!"

Sincerely,

Teresa, Jim, Jimmy, Cory  and "Bandit and Brody"
