Mr. Buffy has a new name to go with his new life -- he is now known as
"Harley".
Harley is doing wonderful. He has really bonded with us, especially me. He lays
outside the shower door in the morning and is practically attached to my hip
when I'm home. He's such a sweet, quiet presence. He's really big
on being on the sofa at night when we're watching TV. And boy, when he
wants some attention, he's not afraid to paw you and let you know! And woe
is you if you stop petting him before he's ready...the pawing resumes right
away! LOL We've had some incontinence problems.....he had a bladder
infection that we took care of, but now he's on Proin for incontinence as well.
He's very scared when he's had an accident (which he hasn't had now that he's on
the stuff), so I wonder if he was punished and/or hit by his old owners when he
messed on the floor. We certainly don't get upset with him - we figure at
his age it's to be expected now and then. But if he needs to go out before
I get up in the morning or at night, he's really good about letting me know.
So overall it's really going well. I do worry about his health, and I'm not sure
that he'll be around more than another year. But I am so glad we had the
opportunity to give him a home for however long. He's my little buddy
:-)
