Adopted 08/2002
Dear OBG,
We adopted Chloe in August 2002, and instantly knew she was the right pup for us. OBG's foster mom introduced us, and we could tell that Chloe, being a rescue, was already well on the road to recovery. Chloe quickly displayed her hearty appetite, eating everything in sight and begging for more. She first wowed us by standing on her back legs and begging while we were preparing dinner. (She still does.)
We're sure we are not alone in feeling that she is special. She gets a great deal of attention from everyone she meets.
It was thought that she needed a little work with housetraining, but we quickly learned that she was not a fan of the crate that we bought for her. She would -- we still don't know how -- remove the bottom plastic pan, and replace it with nearby throw rugs, despite the fact that the nearby throw rugs were out of her reach and too big to fit inside the crate. We also found out that she was more than happy to not have accidents anywhere in the house if we just let her have free reign of it…and so she does.
She has her own chair and loves to sleep at the head of the bed, between our pillows. She loves to have her head and belly scratched, and is quick and plentiful with her kisses. She will sit still for a brushing as often as someone is willing.
She loves her daily jaunts in the park outside our house, and enjoys long weekend walks. She enjoys driving in the car, but always tries to sneak into the front seat. Like clockwork she looks out the door when we are coming home from work and wags her tail till it looks like it will fall off. We feel truly blessed because she is an absolute delight. While she is competitive with other dogs, she's beginning to learn how to play with her cousins, now that they know she's the top dog.
