Adopted May 17, 2003
I am happy to tell you that the Cocker Spaniel my family adopted, Duke, on 17 May 2003 at the Virginia Beach Petsmart is doing great. He is a wonderful dog and we are so happy Duke allowed us to adopt him.
Duke is a very affectionate and smart dog. He loves to jump up on the couch and snuggle with us. He loves getting his ears rubbed. What a couch potato he's becoming. He is great at the end of the day, when all he wants to do is jump into bed with you for a good nights sleep. He is very well behaved and has had no accidents and has shown hiself to be responsible in the "taking care of his business", both in the morning and at the end of the day. He is very well behaved when we take him or his daily walks. Talk about a good eater. Duke is quite the "Chow Hound". No problem with this guys appetite. Although Duke is deaf, he has no not at all shy about using his voice. It is so cute. He shows a lot of characer! While he can't hear people, he sure knws when someone is outside the front door - talk about a great nose. He makes for a good watchdog.
We are so very happy with Duke. He has a loving and safe home. Please use the enclosed photographs for your "Happy Endings" web page posting. Many thanks to OBG and your great volunteers for taking such good care of Duke in the past. He's had a tough time, but now that he is with us, he'll continue to get nothing but the best. He's been to the Vet for a complete exam, had his nails clipped (and was very well behaved), had his teeth cleaned, and make a couple of trips to the groomer. The Vet Techs just love Duke. They tell us to bring him by to visit with them any time. He really is a great dog!
Sincerely,
The Schaffert Family
