Duke

Hi – I’m Duke Brown and I was adopted at the end of June, 2004.  I went to live at my forever home in Roanoke, Va and then found out that my new parents had another home in Rockland, Me.  Talk about fun!  I now have two places to play with a basket of toys at each house.

I’ve been to obedience school to learn how to behave myself – but I still can  have a wild streak.  I like to help my parents give dinner parties – if I’m really good, their friends slip me treats under the table even though they’re told not to.  I’m a great traveller – I sleep most of the way on the two day trip up and back to Maine.  One thing I’m not too sure about are ocean waves and seaweed – they won’t stay still!

I love to cuddle and any lap is fair game – but especially my dad’s.  At bedtime I have to give up my toys and settle down in the bed between my mom and dad.  And even though I start the night at the end of the bed, by morning I’m up at the top between them.

Whenever they leave me at home alone I can’t wait for them to come home and always bring them one of my toys – especially my squeaky ball – to show them how happy I am that they’re back.  And if they take me with them, they just have to say “car” and I’m at the door!  In fact I have a travel bag in all our cars so I have everything I need whenever we go out.

My folks were told I had a few problems when I was adopted, but they said that was okay.  The skin issues are almost gone and my coat looks lovely and glossy.  Plus they knew I would be an only child and spoiled rotten.

The best part is that I love them and I know that they love me and that this is where I’m going to be for the rest of my life.

Love and licks,

Duke.

Regards

Colin
