Higgins is a seven-year-old buff male American Cocker Spaniel. He lived outdoors all his life with Campbell and several other unfortunate dogs. Like Campbell, he was horribly matted, filthy, and badly neglected when we got him. He has never known a loving touch before now, and consequently, he is very shy. He is warming up slowly but surely, and we are finding him to be a gentle, sweet boy, who wants nothing more than a few affectionate pats on the head and a place to rest in comfort. Higgins is neutered, current on his vaccinations, and on heartworm preventative.

Higgins went to a nice gentleman and his mother in Pittsburgh. The man came up on Wednesday and drove through bad weather part of the way to get here.  What a shame. I think the man would have been good for him. Higgins did his fair share of barking, but after awhile started to come closer and closer. Within an hour or so the two started to bond. I think that Higgins got a great home and that he will be much happier there than with all the dogs moving around and all the noise here in Fairfax.
