Katie's story is told by a OBG volunteer, Barbara:
Katie Starr was one of the sweetest dogs that I have met in a long time. She really didn't ask for much, just to have a family around her. Well, I believe she has found the best home possible. She is now living in Indiana, PA with her Mom and Grandma. Grandma is home all day and I am sure that Katie will get use to that really quick. She also has an Uncle near by with a niece and nephew. I really don't think Katie could ask for more. She bonded with her new Mom almost as soon as she met her. It was love at first sight for Katie
Another update on Katie Starr is told by OBG Volunteer, Kathi:
I visited Katie Starr recently in a follow-up home visit. I can't believe this is the same dog! Six months previous, I pulled a scared, smelly, dirty little cocker out of the shelter. She had been left there when her family moved and couldn't take her along. When Katie Starr greeted me at the door of her new home, I had to check for a wart I knew would be hiding under that thick, glossy, coat to verify that this was indeed the same little *cockergirl*. Katie Starr has blossomed! Best of all is the look of complete adoration she gives her new "mommy".
Seeing Katie's happiness has revived my faith in the rescue system and shown me once again that all the tears and frustration of rescue really are worthwhile.
