Ashley Ashley crossed over Rainbow Bridge
at the end of the ripe age of 15 years and 3 months due to kidney failure.
We volunteered to foster Ashley after her former owners gave her up at the age
of 11. They were retiring and leaving the DC area and this wonderful little dog
did not fit into their plans I guess. In most shelters she would have been
put down within 24 hours because of her "old age", but luckily for
Ashley her former owners did call Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue. As
fosters, we fell immediately in love with her and found ourselves adopting a
third cocker. Together, we gave each other many
wonderful and loving times together. We gave her 4 more years of life; yet
she also enriched our lives with her sweet gentle character and loving
personality. It was hard to say good-bye to Ashley after only 4 years, but we
all pass on. Even so, we are just grateful that we were able to enjoy Ashley's
wonderful and gentle qualities, even for a small period of time. We look
forward to the day when we can see her once again, bounding across the fields,
large ears flapping in the breeze. Her life was a blessing to us all.
