Jennie

RIP June 25, 2011

I meet her online in September 2008, after my cocker spaniel Teqila passed away.

I was devastated by Teqila's loss, and willing to rescue a dog; so, I began my search and soon I found her...Her gaze just charmed me, I would go many times a day on OBG's site just to look at her...and on October 20, 2008 we finally meet, and I became Jennie's companion for 2 years, 8 months, and 5 days. Too short a period if you ask me (or her, I bet...)

Found as a stray by a nun in Virginia and handed to the OBG folks, Jennie was the sweetest girl in town, very down to earth, shy but courageous, pushy but calm, never ever walked in front of me when we went for a walk, checking to make sure everybody (Codi, her rescued OBG companion included) is present and in step. She used to be called  Houdini by her foster mom and grand mom (and we would use the name at times), because no door was an obstacle for her in the house, she would go from the basement to the 2nd floor to make sure everything is OK...sleeping like a rock at night...I loved her way of waking me up in the morning; she would come the my side of the bed, set her muzzle on the edge of the bed and start singing very gently until I would stir, and then touching my hand with her little nose, licking my hand... I know you are at peace now baby, I heard your little song: "Io sono in pace".

We miss you so much, my little girl Jenn!
Sleep with the angels,
Your mom, dad, and Codi
