MacGregor MacGregor captured our hearts the first time we
saw his picture on the Oldies but Goodies website and we knew he had to be ‘ours’.
On a busy 4th of July weekend we went to his foster home to meet him . It was
love at first sight as he rushed to us and, after a short walk, jumped right in
the car to go to his new home, his ears flaring out with excitement. We
later learned of his love for riding in the car, which we initially mistook for
immediate affection toward us. We were told that MacGregor was
approximately 9-11 years old, he needed a little extra attention because his
sight was not the best neither was his hearing but he could spot a doggy treat a
mile away, and had only one home until his parents decided to start a family. We
could only imagine his sense of abandonment and were determined to make a loving
home for him. When we first brought MacGregor home he was very quiet, hardly
ever barked and never jumped on the furniture. If he could only set an example
for his sister, Christy, our other Cocker Spaniel and an only child up to this
point was a little spoiled. Unfortunately, things went the other way and
MacGregor was soon imitating Christy’s barking but never got on the furniture.
They were an inseparable pair following each other everywhere. What a happy time
that was. A special thank you to Oldies But Goodies
and the volunteers for all that you do and especially for bringing him into our
lives. MacGregor’s passing has left an empty
place in our hearts but his memory fills the rest. He is missed every day by his
mommies Michelle, Mary, and his sister, Christy.
