Misty

Birthdate: Unknown
Adopted: March 27, 2004
Passed Over:

My name is Cheryl Ruff and I recently lost my beautiful female cocker spaniel, Misty, to a disease described by the vet as "autoimmune-mediated thrombocytopenia".  Misty was thought to be around 11-12 years of age upon her death, May 31, 2006.  I say "thought" as when I adopted her a bit over 2 years ago, her age was uncertain.

I acquired Misty through the Cockeradoption.org agency in northern Maryland whom I know you work with to place these cockers in caring homes.  Misty's foster mother at the time of her adoption was Nancy Derr.  I have kept Nancy informed of Misty's health and and happiness throughout the time I had her and felt Nancy matched me perfectly with the right dog.

My primary reason though for writing this was to say "thank you" for your organization and all the work you do to take these cocker spaniels in and find homes for them.  I would appreciate very much if you would add Misty to your memorial page..

I'm not sure if in my heart I am ready to adopt this quickly, but I believe there is a reason I continue to check out the rescue web pages and look for a "look-alike Misty" buff cocker spaniel that has a few special needs.

Again, thank you for all your organization does for these sweet dogs.

Sincerely,

Cheryl Ruff
