Memorial to Teddy
Birthday: Unknown
Adoption Date: 08/07/06
Passing Date:10/22/10
You were turned in by your owners with the name of "Bonehead" and given an age of 4
years old. We often wonder what kind of life you had before coming to OBG. Anyone
that would give you such a name could not have been kind to you. Your name was
quickly changed to "Boone" by your foster family. But to us you looked like a small
teddy bear, and we renamed you Teddy.
It came as a surprise when our vet advised us that you were really a Senior dog of 8-9
years old. After losing another Senior OBG only 4 months prior, we weren't sure we
could face another loss anytime soon, but once we had you home, there was no going
back.
At first you were very timid and scared. Over time you became more outgoing and
"vocal" and were a good brother to Tucker and later Spencer. You were serious, not one
to smile or wag your tail, but as sweet as could be, with beautiful soulful eyes.
These were some of your favorites:
Favorite Toy: Nyla Bones. You wanted them all to your self and would get very agitated
if your brother was seen chewing on any of them.
Favorite Foods: Your eyes would light up at the sight of a bagel. You had a sweet tooth
and enjoyed Teddy Grahams (of course), Honey Nut Cheerios and ice cream, to name a
few.
Favorite Hangouts: The local coffee shop, where on Sun. you would wait for appreciative
by standers to ooh and ahh and give lots of petting. It didn't even bother you when they
called you a girl.
Favorite Outings: The OBG boat cruises on the Potomac were a much anticipated annual
event and you went every year, You enjoyed other OBG events as well and won blue
ribbons for "best dancer" and "top Senior dog".
Favorite Activity: Being petted and staying close by your family.
You were our 'sweet pea" or Prince Theodore. Although trips to the groomer were not on
your "favorites list", you looked very prince-like after your soft light colored coat had
been washed and brushed.
Thank you for 4 years of unconditional love, companionship and being such a sweet boy.
We miss you, but know you are romping with Tucker and Tango in heaven.
Love, Cathy, David and Spencer
