This is probably the most difficult thing I have ever written but I believe it is also a great way to celebrate the life of my buddy Toby. Toby passed away in August of 2006 after bringing me 16 years of comfort. During these 16 years Toby was probably the greatest friend I have ever had and like any dog, he was always there for me. From his younger days swimming in the Chesapeake Bay until his final days when we took him to Florida, he was always happy just to be with us. I just hope I brought him the same happiness that he brought me and my family. We all miss Toby now including his buddy Casey who is also a cocker spaniel.

I know Toby is in a better place now but it’s still difficult and I really miss him. I just hope he had a wonderful life and able to enjoy the last couple years. Even towards the end when he was uncomfortable, he was always happy and waiting for me when I got home. I really do miss the way he gave me each paw before he came in the house so it could be cleaned and the look on his face when I came home from work and would catch him sleeping. Toby had been deaf the last 6 years and would sleep like a rock which upset him if he was still asleep when you came home. I actually think he got upset if he was not awake to greet you when you walked in the door. Well its time for Toby to sleep now, his duties are over and he did a great job.

I know life goes on but I will always miss my Tobster. Thank you Toby for all the joy you have brought to our family, we all miss you.
