Lorelei

Hi everyone, my name is Lorelei. Much like my "Gilmore Girls" namesake, I am a lovable, sweet lady just 5 or 6 years young, looking for a place to call home. I came to OBG as a stray, and was in pretty rough shape, with an advanced case of heartworms. I have completed all my treatments but it's been a tough few months and I will have a residual cough for the rest of my life. Thanks to the great OBG vets and volunteers for helping in my recovery.  I am now looking for my forever home.

I am a real sweetie pie. I am a quiet and gentle snuggle buddy and I'll keep you company wherever you go. I love to play with toys, but I'm still working on figuring out how this 'fetch' game works--I've got the chasing part down, but I still don't understand why I have to bring the toy back. I love being outside, but I am an escape artist, so a well-kept, fenced-in yard is a must. 

I do have cherry eyes, but don't worry--it doesn't hurt, and the vet says that in a few months the OBG vets will be able to do the procedure to fix them. I am a medium-sized cocker at 30 pounds. I am watching my girlish figure and you'll have to help me by watching what you feed me, because I do love to eat and am highly food-motivated, but not in an aggressive way. I do have dry eye and I have eye drops that I take twice a day, but I don't mind it at all. I'm also on a couple of other medications for now, but they're very tasty with a little dab of peanut butter. I am excited to start the rest of my healthy, and home-filled life with you!
