Is it possible that Sugar is as sweet as her name?  Yes, we think it is.  Sugar is a 9 year old, 25# chocolate cocker who was surrendered for financial reasons.  Since her family had not been able to take care of her medical needs for a very long time, Sugar is in need of a doggie makeover.  We are excited to watch her undergo an amazing transformation.

Sugar had bilateral TECAs on Aug 1, and her ears are healing nicely.  She seems to feel much better now that they don't hurt anymore.  Next on Sugar's list is a dental and cherry eye surgery, which will happen on Sept 24.  She'll be looking like a new dog very soon.  In the meantime, her fur is growing out after having been shaved down due to mats and surgery.  She will have a lovely fur coat by winter.

Sugar was clearly a loved dog in her prior home.  She is house-trained and walks nicely on the leash.  She likely was not allowed on furniture in her prior home, but she does get up on the couch now that she has watched her foster brother do it several times.  She sleeps in a human bed at night.  She loves to squeak soft squeaky toys over and over again.  She has free run of the house when no one is home because she does not get into an ounce of trouble.  She has the cutest greeting when her person comes home.  Overall, she is very easy to have around.

Sugar is a true velcro cocker spaniel.  If you would like a constant companion by your side, Sugar may be your girl.  To learn more about Sugar, please contact her foster mom.
