Max

Max is a lovely maltese mix, estimated to be 10 years old. He's 12 pounds and could use some more weight. Most of his teeth were damaged, so they were removed and he eats soft food. Although we don't know his history as he was found as a stray, Max is in good health.  His leash manners are good, he trots along next to resident dog. 



Max is a sweet, gentle and affectionate companion who would fit well into a quieter home. He is quiet and gentle, but can be goofy and silly when the mood strikes, he likes to celebrate mealtimes with zooming and rolling on his back. 



Max is friendly with his foster sibling, and is quiet and interested when passing other dogs on leash. He's probably also good with cats, he doesn't show interest in backyard rabbits or chipmunks. He likes looking outside but often is content to stay in, particularly if the grass is wet. Max loves his comforts: pillows, blankets, dog beds: he likes a nest. He hasn't played with balls or toys and will leave food in his bowl if he's had enough. He's shown no aggression to anything or anyone. He's fine with being carried and relaxes in laps to have his belly rubbed. 



Max's housetraining is stellar. He barks for a minute when his favorite person leaves for work, but settles quickly. He is shy with new people and sounds, but quickly warms up. He sleeps through the night, not a peep.  He prefers sleeping with people, but if they aren't available, he quietly retreats downstairs to his favorite chair to wait for more action.
