Hello, I'm Cara! I'm a very pretty 10 year old girl who was rescued from a puppymill. My buddies and I were very lucky that the puppymill operation we've known all our lives was busted. Now OBG has assured us brighter days with a forever family are ahead.

I'm pretty and sweet, although shy and a bit scared. I have lots to learn and I'm hoping you will be my biggest fan and help me along. I'm looking for an experienced dog owner with another pup in the home. You wouldn't believe how much I learn from from my furry friends! I know I could bring you lots of joy if you just open your heart and home to me.

Because of a special medical condition I have, a two person adult home with no young kids will be the best match. I need someone(s) who is not gone from the home for long hours, who does not need to keep me crated, and who is willing and able to give life saving medication several times every day and take me to a specialized vet every three months. I also have glaucoma which will require daily eye drops for the rest of my life; quite a bit of my eyesight has been lost.

IMPORTANT: Cara has been diagnosed with Fanconi's Disease. We strongly recommend that anyone who is interested in adopting her needs to do research on Fanconi's Disease before inquiring about an adoption.

Caring for Cara will involve giving regular nutritional supplements, access to fresh filtered water at all times, and allowing her to "do her business" much more frequently than other dogs. A fenced yard would be a requisite for this(no apartment/condo living). Cara will urinate voluminously in the house if not taken out every 4-6 hours. Venous blood gas tests as well as other medical tests will be necessary every 10 weeks or so in order to calibrate her dietary supplement regimen. This will be needed for the rest of her life.
