This precious 2-year-old girl was found lying in the road after being hit by a car. She eventually made it to the shelter, where workers soon contacted OBG - could we help? Long story short, Dixie's injury caused her to need a total ear canal ablation, a major surgery that would alleviate her pain but leave her deaf in one ear.

Dixie had her surgery in early January and it was a resounding success! She is enjoying her new, pain-free life and giving kisses to the staff at the vet office to say thank you, thank you, thank you!

She's obviously a head turner - she has remarkable coloring and weighs a petite 18 pounds. Dixie is a bit leery of strangers, but she absolutely adores her foster mom. Once she warms up to you, she will be your best friend and give you all the kisses you could ever want. She would prefer a quiet home without many people coming and going so she can feel comfortable and safe. She'd be equally happy as the pampered princess of the house or sharing the love with a doggy sibling.

This sweetie is well suited to be a cherished, pampered pet - and we know she'll make an adult dog savvy family very lucky.

Since Dixie prefers quiet environments, she is meeting potential adopters by private appointment instead of attending adoption shows. Don't be shy - contact her foster mom today!
