JR and his love, June are two peas in one snugly little pod. While they sleep snuggled together, the foster family feels that he would be ok without June, but would prefer to have a puppy playmate. A home that is looking for double the fun and love and would take the duo would be a bonus. At one point, this duo was found in a field and the local vet thought they could have been on their own for about 6 months. During that time, they only had each other to rely on. A Good Samaritan found and gave them shelter. Unfortunately, circumstances change and JR and June needed to find another home. That's when they officially became OBG dogs.

At 3-4 years old, JR is a young dog with a medium energy level. His former owner did stress that he is an "Escape Artist Extraordinaire"! JR can climb rock walls, squeeze through small gaps in a fence and is capable of digging under a fence. Bottom line, he needs to be supervised when outside. He is better with leash walking since his arrival to OGB, but will need more training.

JR has only lived with June but seems to want to play with other dogs but just is not sure of himself in new situations. He plays in the yard with his new lab mix friend. He is a hyper vigilant guy. He was the defender of the pair and is always on the lookout for danger. He goes to the pet store weekly and still tries to hide in the shelves. He chases after toys and sometimes brings them back. He really just needs to learn to feel ok with his environment and then he will learn to play and be the dog he was supposed to be.

He is comfortable in his foster home now that he knows the ropes. In the past, he lived with cats and is curious about them. He initially growled at his new kitty friends, but now ignores them.

He has anxiety when he cannot see his humans and cries. He is happy when he can be in the same room with us and not his furry buddies. He is going through basic manners training which will help him to feel more comfortable, but will benefit from training classes.

He is a smart little guy who is looking for a home that will offer him patience, time, order and a space on your couch. A few toys and bones would be great too.
