Sammie

Sammie is on his way to becoming OBG's biggest loser! Originally, Sammie weighed in at a hefty 49 pounds. With increasing exercise and less snacking, Sammie has lost 13 pounds and now weighs 36 pounds. Although he has a little more to lose (about 10 more pounds), he is able to go up and down stairs and even run short distances without panting. This has made 6-year old Sammie a very happy boy!

Sammie gets along great with other dogs, and rides well in the car. He has impeccable household manners and is given free roam in the house. We've discovered that Sammie prefers company to being alone, so he'd be happiest in a home with other dogs or an owner that's not gone all day.

Sammie loves to take walks in the sunshine (not so much in the rain), and is looking for someone to share his life. He is a sweet, sweet boy who has so much to offer in the way of companionship. The first time Sammie jumped onto the sofa, his big brown eyes looked as if he might be in trouble. We couldn't say anything to him, because we were so delighted that he could finally jump.

The best thing about Sammie's diet is that he now loves green beans!
