Sawyer

Adult | Male | Adopted

Sawyer is one of those dogs that most people are looking for...wonderful, loving, sunny disposition who seems to roll with whatever comes his way. We wish we knew more about Sawyer's past. This 8-year-old was left at a shelter's night drop shed after hours with a brief description of Sawyer's personality.

We are slowly getting to know sweet Sawyer, and it seems that he does well with other dogs. Kids and cats are a mystery at this point. Since he has been in a shelter environment, we're not certain about his house manners. Often shelter dogs are not walked and must eliminate where they sleep. Once Sawyer is in a foster home, we should know more about this aspect of his life.

When we first met Sawyer at the shelter, we discovered he walked with very prominent bowlegs and with his rear end curled under. After a visit to the special leg vet, we discovered that poor Sawyer has two luxating patellas and ruptured (ACL) cruciate ligaments (this little guy will need several orthopedic surgeries). The specialist was shocked that Sawyer was ambling around as well as he is.
